Well hello there!

My name is Krista-Maria but everyone calls me Mia.

I’m passionate about living a holistic life and love empowering people to balance their mind-body connection through mindfulness.

I am a college Professor with a background in law and I have been working in the field for over 15years. I turned to mindfulness as a way to help balance my career, my passion and my health.

Mindfulness taught me more about the nervous system, self compassion, and acceptance of thoughts and emotions without judgment so I could find space to move through trauma, grief and anxiety. I couldn’t believe the difference it made and knew I wanted to share it with the world.

I hold certificates from McMaster University in Fundamentals of Mindfulness and Advanced Practices and Principles of Mindfulness and the University of Toronto and The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Concurrent Disorders which includes Motivational Interviewing as well as a certificates from the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute in Mindfulness Counselling Strategies, CBT-tools for thinking differently, Anxiety- Practical Interventions and Trauma Informed Care.

My passion for education and advocating for mental health and wellness is what drives me. I’m an active volunteer in the community, working with youth in the justice system, and am currently completing a degree in law and management.

My Mission

Teaching you to prioritize yourself, find balance and take control of your life.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being aware of what is happening in your mind and body in the present moment, without judgment. It is the practice of noticing your thoughts and emotions with acceptance and learning to regulate your mind and body to find balance.

"Not the world, not what's outside of us, but what we hold inside traps us. We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds but we can take responsibility for the mind with which we create our world".

Dr. Gabor Maté
